The Best Ice Bucket Challenge Yet
Unless you've been living on a remote island with no internet access, you’ve seen the Ice Bucket Challenge that has taken over Facebook. People post a video of themselves dumping a bucket of ice over their head and then challenge others to do the same to raise awareness of and raise money for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
The videos on Facebook have all been great, but this one from Gabriella is the best because her Dad has ALS and is part of the video and he takes the challenge too! [Source]
Kreg Palko's Ice Bucket Challenge"Hi, I’m Kreg Palko and I have ALS. First of all I’d like to thank Pete Frates and Team FrateTrain for drawing attention to ALS. You’re doing a great thing for the cause. I can't stand by and watch everyone pour ice on their heads without joining in myself. So I’d like to nominate Chris Patton, a distinguished alumni from BC and his daughter Nicole for the ice bucket challenge. Thank you everyone on behalf of all of us who have ALS. Thank you" ALS awareness brought to you by this badass ALS patient himself. My dad has been battling Lou Gehrig's for over two years now and it has completely robbed him of his livelihood. His muscles deteriorated and his voice withered away as our family watched in horror. A few months ago, a massive stem cell transplant gave us hope that the effects might be reversed, and now my dad is in for the fight of his life. You can read our story at www.kregpalkoALS.com and help make a difference. Thank you Team FrateTrain for getting this going, and to EVERYONE who has helped put ALS on the map! Dad nominated CP and Nicole Patton, and I was so anxious about the ice water I completely forgot my nominations!! Kyle Palko, Jared Hanson, and Jack Burger, you're up to #strikeoutALS !! Though this disease has impaired his ability to walk, move, and talk, his brain is unaffected. Therefore, his desire to partake in ridiculous things is still very much prevalent. Here is the strongest man I know participating in the #icebucketchallenge Donations can be made at www.kregpalkoALS.com, www.petefrates.com, and www.alsa.org
